Great Decisions: Populism in Europe

We will look at the EU Core values, why populism has gained traction today, major issues contributing to populist thinking and the varied faces of populism in several European countries and some aspects of American relations with them. Major issues for discussions include:
• Immigration and Refugees
• Ethnic Nationalism
• Distrust of and neglect by Political Elite and main parties
• More Independent Voters—Media access
• Inequality and Globalization
• Crisis perception or creation
• Relation to American policy
